Chapter two
Earn store credit
One credit per paperback, two per hardcover. Credit expires every year on Dec 31, so make sure to use it. Credit is capped at $200, and you must spend it down below $200 before accumulating more.

Spend credit on whatever speaks to you. Mix credit and cash. Walk out with a fresh stack the same afternoon.
What we look for
Most books we'll happily take. A few we won't.

- Recent editions — earn the best credit

Every book in earns credit.
Credit stays on your account under your name and phone number. Credit expires every year on Dec 31, so make sure to use it. Credit is capped at $200, and you must spend it down below $200 before accumulating more.

The fine print
A few practical things, just so you know.
- Daily trade-in limit?
- Bring in what we can review while you wait. Books cannot be dropped off, so you must wait while we review your stack due to limited storage capacity. If you already have credit, we stop accepting books for trade on Nov 1 each year so we can catch up on inventory and give people time to use their credit.
- Can I share credit with a partner?
- Credit is tied to one person, but family members can shop on each other's accounts at the counter.
- Cash, card, or both?
- Both. Credit and dollars work side by side on the same purchase.
- Special orders or rare titles?
- Sometimes — just ask. We'll do our best to track it down through our network.
- Forgot which number you used?
- No problem. We'll find you in the system by name or last four digits.
